Reflexion Office Seating
REFLEXION HELPS AVOID THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH POOR OFFICE SEATING
Those employed in offices or sedentary jobs may find themselves sitting
at desks or computers for a large part of each working day. However, poor
quality seating can lead to discomfort, loss of concentration and decreased
work output, plus the risk of bad posture and resultant back pain.
Absenteeism relating to this problem is currently costing British companies
and the NHS in excess of £5 billion per annum, and resulting in
over 4.8 million working days lost. That's why it's vital that office
based workers should enjoy premium quality seating which will ensure that
they experience continued comfort, correct posture and total support for
the body.
COMPARE A REFLEXION SEAT CUSHION'S PERFORMANCE WITH THAT OF AN ORDINARY
SEAT CUSHION
The two pressure maps below show the pressure exerted when a user sits
on a conventional seat (Map 1) and when a users sits on a seat made from
Reflexion (Map 2). These tests were conducted using an identical protocol.
The lightest pressures are shown in blue, whilst the heaviest pressures
are shown in yellow and amber. As pressure increases sitting becomes uncomfortable
and heavy pressure over sustained periods can cause circulatory problems
leading to the development of pressure sores.

This pressure map shows the pressure
distribution on an ordinary office chair. Areas in amber and yellow
indicate high pressure and potential problems for the users.
|
Compared to the equilalent conventional
seat, Reflexion reduces pressure substantially. This makes a real
difference for the user in terms of comfort, improved posture and
consistent high performance over long periods.

All foams are classified according to performance; therefore class
becomes the measure of performance and durability. Each separate
composite of a Reflexion seat conforms to BS3379 class "V",
intended for use in very severe applications. Many cushions in this
sector are not ... BEWARE OF IMITATIONS.
Ergonomics
Ergonomics in the workplace has become increasingly prominent in
the last decade with employers beginning to understand the many
benefits of ergonomically designed products. It is the key ingredient
to a healthier, safer and happier workforce.
To help people understand the dynamics of ergonomic products FIRA
have launched the FIRA Ergonomics Excellence award which Vitafoam's
Reflexion seating system has been given, to add to the British Contract
Furniture Association's product approval, awarded to the product
in 2002.
