Vasco is a revolutionary slow recovery range of Visco-elastic polymers that are designed to provide support and protection where it’s needed most. HOW DOES IT SHAPE UP?

Often described as a “memory” foam, Vasco is slower to recover from compression than traditional polyurethane foam products. Since it is energy absorbing and temperature sensitive it readily responds to heat, moulding itself perfectly around the source of compression. No matter what the weight, Vasco spreads it evenly by increasing the surface area so that when equilibrium is achieved, pressure is reduced to an absolute minimum.

The pressure maps below show how Vasco compares to traditional materials when used, in this example, as a mattress filling. The warmer the colour, the more unfavourable the pressure to the human body.

Far less pressure is exerted on concentrated areas of the body, whilst any pressure that is present is spread far more evenly across the surface over the sleeper’s body.

Vasco 40 An excellent, soft-feel Vasco for more delicate or sensitive applications.
Vasco 55 A superb, soft-feel Vasco similar to the Vasco 40 in terms of feel but with superior memory characteristics and increased density.
Vasco 55F The newest addition to the Vasco family, very similar to the Vasco 55 but that little bit more resilient. An excellent comfort grade for beds.
Vasco 60 The original Vasco most suitable for applications where support with reduced pressure is a priority.
Vasco 60H A harder Vasco for exceptional comfort in applications with prolonged use.

MADE TO PERFORM UNDER PRESSURE

Although Vasco is produced using speciality polymers, it is manufactured in exactly the same way as traditional slab stock foam, giving it a good flat top block shape that produces excellent yields and can be cut to any size. As the polymers come into contact with a warm surface they react to the temperature which softens the material and allows it to mould itself around the shape. This increases the contact surface area and helps to distribute the load, thereby reducing pressure and increasing comfort. Optimum pressure distribution is achieved when Vasco is used in conjunction with a high load-bearing Reflex grade.
